Why the 2023 Nissan Ariya is Ahead of its EV Competitors
With electric vehicles becoming more and more popular and widely available, consumers are left with a plethora of options when choosing their next car. The Nissan Ariya 2023, Kia Ev6, and Tesla Model Y are currently the top competitors on the EV market, each with different factors putting them ahead of one another.
One distinguishing factor putting EVs above gas powered vehicles is their battery range. The Ariya has a range of up to 300 miles, while the Kia Ev6 gets 310, and the Tesla with 330. When comparing models to price, while the Ariya gets 10-20 miles less out of a charge, it is on the lower end of price, making it more affordable against its competitors. There is a fair tradeoff between price and battery range in this market.
The Nissan Ariya is based on the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance’s CMF EV platform with two-wheel drive and Nissan’s e-force all-wheel drive options. The Aria has two battery options for European and Japanese models, but only one for North American. The Nissan has its largest battery to date, with 235 horsepower at its base and 389 HP on its top-of-the-line dual motor e-force model. The dual motor top model has an impressive 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds making it a fierce competitor with the Tesla which is 3.6 seconds.
The interior of the Nissan Ariya has a minimalist and clean theme. Designers removed as many buttons from the dashboard as possible to give it a clean look. They also designed the floors to be flat to maximize interior space. Nissan’s zero gravity seats add to the comfort. While the front seats have more legroom and better cushioning than the rear seats, the rear has ample leg room and remains comfortable on longer drives. Adjustable and cooled front seats with memory foam, leather upholstery, and a power moonroof make this model simply more luxurious than its competitors.
Nissan has upgraded its technology as well. With numerous automation features, the company demonstrates that it is the future of EVs. The Ariya is equipped with Nissan’s Pro Pilot Assist 2.0 for single lane hands-free freeway driving. The Pro Pilot Assist also includes Navalink, which detects ramps and curbs for a more enhanced self-driving experience. This model also provides blind spot assistance, pedestrian detection, automatic rear braking, forward collision warning, and 360-degree camera making it just as safe and intelligent at its counterparts
When finally choosing which EV is best, the 2023 Nissan and Kia Ev6 are both appealing electric crossovers that share many features and are priced similarly. Nissan has prioritized providing a luxurious experience to customers through interior and technology upgrades. Kia has improved driving capabilities and performance. While both vehicles have enhanced driver safety and automation features, Nissan’s Pro Pilot Assist 2.0 puts it above Kia’s Highway Driving Assist 2. According to Hot Cars, “Nissan has done a good job in ensuring that the Ariya provides a comfortable ride, while putting an emphasis on comfort and luxury”.
The Ariya is ahead of both the Ev6 and Model Y in terms of its one-of-a-kind features, practicality, affordability, safety, and charging ability. This model is all around more cost efficient and intelligent than its competitors. We encourage any prospective buyer to test drive the 2023 Nissan Ariya at Bellevue Nissan.
